In the Nordic and Baltic countries, rustic farmhouse ales are still being brewed in a manner that elsewhere would be called experimental archaeology. Alongside the living traditions of such malted beverages as sahti, maltøl, koduõlu, and gotlandsdricke there is New Nordic Beer, doing for beer what New Nordic Cuisine has done for food. Brewing Nordic is a site dedicated to tales of Nordic ales, run by Finnish beer writer Mika Laitinen, a keen homebrewer, an avid ale researcher, and the author of Viking Age Brew. Finnish readers, please check also Brewing Nordic Suomi.
